Abstract

This is Part 1 of a three-part series on medico-legal documentation. The aim of Part I is to equip medical practitioners with the knowledge and skills necessary for the completion of the appropriate medico-legal report, form J88, a legal document, which addresses the factual findings of the medical assessment and the opinion of the health worker as to the significance of the facts. Paper 2 covers assault and Paper 3, sexual assault.
