An approach to the patient with urinary incontinence

Abstract


Urinary incontinence is the involun-tary loss of urine affecting 8% of females and 3% of males. Incontinence is more common in old age but should never be regarded as normal or inevitable. Most patients with in-continence can be cured or improved.
