A distance-based blood transfusion short learning programme for nurses

Abstract


Transfusion may be a life-saving therapeutic intervention. However, many preventable errors make this a hazardous procedure. The current Postgraduate Diploma in Transfusion Medicine presented at the University of the Free State, South Africa, provides an excellent opportunity for medical doctors to improve their clinical transfusion practice.
