Unsightly hair and scalp conditions can cause adult patients great concern, as does premature thinning of the hair and unusual hair loss. Young children may sporadically suffer from head lice infestations, and require prompt and effective treatment, while babies may develop cradle cap in the first few weeks of life. It is important for nursing practitioners to have a good knowledge of the products that are available to treat minor hair and scalp conditions, and to be able to advise patients on how these products should be used.
