Abstract
Acne is an inflammatory skin condition occurring mainly on the face and upper torso. It is most prevalent in male and female teenagers of all races (50-85%), but also affects people of other ages, especially summer acne and tropical acne which occur at certain times of the year or in certain climates. Although prescription-only drugs are often used in the treatment of acne, the professional nurse can advise people about mild to moderate acne and its management.
