Underscoring the value of South African nurses
Abstract
New “Professional Nursing Today (PNT) editor-in-chief, Dr Vicki Pinkney-Atkinson PhD, gives an insight into her role as a nurse educator and related aims for the publication and its readers…. Thrilled at the prospect of being able to contribute to the world’s most caring profession from a different vantage point, newly appointed editor-in-chief of Professional Nursing Today (PNT), Dr Vicki Pinkney-Atkinson, is really looking forward to underscoring the value of South African nurses through the columns of the journal. “I have always been immensely proud of our nurses, of where and how they work, from the smallest clinics in rural KZN and Limpopo provinces through to the bigger, busy centres. They always manage to do their jobs with dignity and respect. “I feel that PNT can now support our nurses at all levels by giving them the recognition they deserve. I would love to hear from readers, establish what they want and provide them with what they really need to know, said Vicki when commenting on her new role.
